“A great Democrat.”
former Hillary Clinton campaign staffer will likely be watching the November 8 election results from a prison cell after being sentenced Monday to 10- to 23-months behind bars.
Kathleen Kane, the former Pennsylvania attorney general, was  convicted of two felony counts of perjury and seven less serious charges of lying and abusing the power of her office, The Morning Call reported.
“Through a pattern of systematic firings and Nixonian espionage, she created a terror zone in this office,” said Senior Deputy Attorney General Erik Olsen, according to the newspaper.
More from the Morning Call:
Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane was sentenced to up to two years behind bars followed by a probation that will keep her under court supervision for nearly a decade for crimes she committed in pursuit of retribution against political foes.
“This case is about ego — ego of a politician consumed with her image from Day One,” Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy said during Kane’s sentencing Monday in Montgomery County Court. “And instead of focusing solely on the business of fighting crime, her focus was on defeating these perceived enemies.”

The Weekly Standard chronicled Kane’s close ties to the Clintons. Not only was she endorsed by former President Bill Clinton, who called Kane “a great Democrat,” but the now convicted felon also worked on Hillary’s 2008 presidential campaign:
She was considered a rising star in the Democratic party after her 2012 election as the first female Pennsylvania attorney general. Bill Clinton endorsed her that year over former Pennsylvania congressman Patrick Murphy. She had also worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign.
“Kathleen is a great Democrat who understands that an Attorney General’s job is to stand up for consumers and people,” Clinton said in a press release at the time.
